KONY 2012

Have you heard about KONY 2012 yet?

If you don't know what it is, it's a new documentary from Invisible Children. You can read my first post about Invisible Children here.

The documentary focuses on Joseph Kony, the man fueling the war and kidnapping the children, forcing them to become prostitutes and child soldiers.. The goal is to make him famous. Not in a good way, not to praise him, but to raise awareness. The more people who know about him and the crimes he's been committing for over twenty- six years, the sooner he can be stopped.

I'm so happy with the attention it's getting. I've been supporting it for years, and suddenly it's all over. Many celebrities are supporting it, such as Justin Bieber, Willow Smith, Zayn Malik, Bill Gates, Enrique Iglesis, and Reba McEntire. It's been on national news, trended on Twitter, made popular on Facebook and YouTube. Every day in school, I hear kids talking about it, wanting to make a change. Already, thousands have RSVPed to the different events for Cover the Night on Facebook, an event to post as many pictures over your town wherever you live.

The documentary, Kony2012 can be watched here. It's about half an hour long, and well worth watching.
